Corporate Background
Fisher and Strachan, Inc. (FSI) began in 1974 as a partnership between Thomas F. Fisher and Richard B. Strachan. These founders, brothers-in-law and close friends, each brought unique skills to the partnership.
Tom had just graduated from law school and wanted to establish a painting company, a trade he practiced during his undergraduate and graduate years. Rich had worked as a project manager for a nationally recognized General Contractor, and as head of construction for a prominent development and management firm that owned large office buildings and medical facilities. The operation began with painting services and, soon after, added drywall services to management companies, developers and general contractors. Tom worked directly with the field crews while Rich handled all the administrative duties.
As the workload grew, the concentration of Tom on the operations side and Rich on the administrative side established an efficient, customer-driven organization. With Tom's skill in the field and Rich's depth of experience in contracting and construction, the firm made the transition to an interior general contractor while maintaining painting and drywall services for management companies and similar clients. FSI's general contracting and specialty trade renovations continue today.
Our lead field supervisors and tradesmen are long-term members of the FSI team. Some have worked for FSI for over twenty years and some are sons of former, retired FSI employees. Our founders' desire to provide quality work with integrity is a philosophy that applies to our employees as well.
Our client base has grown quickly and we perform services for several of the same management companies we worked for back in 1974. Quality services that meet our clients' needs and exceed their expectations have meant recurring contracts and significant repeat business for FSI. Each client is treated fairly and courteously and can count on value and high quality from FSI.
